I caught something interesting while studying for a sermon that I was preparing. I was studying up on being in the Presence of God; and I was doing a search throughout the Bible on verses that talked about the Presence of God. I found something that completely changed the way that I think.
Look at this verse:
The mountains melt like wax before the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth.
(Psalms 97:5 ESV)
I didn't think much of it the first time that I read it. I thought it was a nicely penned phrase that spoke to the glory of God. David was a very prolific writer and poet, and at first reading, I simply appreciated his poetic ability with this verse.
But then I remembered this verse from Matthew:
And Jesus answered them, "Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, 'Be taken up and thrown into the sea,' it will happen.
(Matthew 21:21 ESV)
What a revelation!!!
That mountain in your life; the one that you have been speaking against, the one that you have been trying to build up enough faith to cast into the sea...that mountain will MELT LIKE WAX in the presence of the Lord!
It is so important to constantly enter into the presence of the Most High. Not just on Sunday mornings, not just when you go to church...it needs to happen every day. All the things that have become mountains in your life have to welt away in the presence of God.
What a God we serve!!
