Are you persecuted for Christ's sake...or your own?

1 Peter 4:12-15:

Pay special attention to the last part of that last verse.  Peter is telling us here that we are not be a "busybody".  What is a busybody?  Other translations say "meddler" (NKJV) or "inspector" (Young's Literal Translation).  What does that mean to us?

Simply:  Mind your own business!

For too long, the church has appointed itself as the Sin Detectives of this world.  This SHOULD NOT BE!  We are not called to judge this world, we are called to bring this world to Christ.  We only have to look at the Great Commission to know what we are supposed to be doing.

Mark 16:15:

Notice that He didn't tell us to go out and find sin and root it out.  He didn't tell us to shout from the rooftops what is or isn't sin, and which sins are "more sinful" than others.  (sarcasm added)  He told us to preach the gospel to every creature.  Well, you may be asking, what is the Gospel that we are to be preaching.  Here is where it gets real easy...

John 3:16:  For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life.

We are to tell the world about what Jesus did!!!  We are operating outside of our mandate if we spend our time discussing SIN!  The main reason that people reject Christ is because they have been turned off by the self-appointed Sin Detectives of this world.

No wonder people think of Christians as bigoted, judgemental hypocrites.  That is how religion teaches Christians how to act.

The focus should always be on the Love of Christ, and not the judgement of the Law.  Christ came to redeem us from the law, therefore, we have no right to judge others BY the Law.

Remember this:  It is none of your business what other people are doing.  Jesus made that pretty clear:

Matthew 7:1-5:  Judge not, that ye be not judged. (2) For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. (3) And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? (4) Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? (5)
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: (13) But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. (14) If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. (15) But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.

Letter to the President

Dear Mr. President,

My prayers are with you as you lead this country.  It is truly my heart's desire that you submit to the will of God in regards to how to best care for His many children within the U.S.  Having read your book, The Audacity of Hope, I have heard from your own voice that you have accepted Christ as your personal Savior; now I pray that you allow Him access to your life that you may lead effectively.  I may not share your opinion on most things; however, I am bound by the Word of God to lift you up constantly in prayer, and I do so with the assurance that the "fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

There is one major issue that I believe you have missed God on, Mr. President.  It has to do with the most abhorrent evil present in our world today, both here in the United States and even around the world.  That evil that I am speaking of is Abortion.

I know that this has become a political issue, with each side militantly standing their ground.  I know that it is a loaded weapon in terms of politics and that many of your supports and members of your party are ardent supporters of what is erroneously termed "choice".

My plea to you is that you would stand up for those that have no "choice"; those that have no other means to defend themselves.  Proverbs 6:16,17 tells us that one of the things that God hates are hands that shed innocent blood.  Mr. President, that innocent blood is smeared all over the hands of this country, and has been since 1973.

Above all else, Mr. President, I implore you to correct this horrific wrong that has already taken the lives of millions and millions of God's precious children.  If you lead, this nation will follow you.  If you take the initiative, then millions will rally to this cause, that is the power of the Presidency.

Mr. President, tonight you will be addressing the nation, may God be with you as you lay out your vision for this great country of ours.  I pray that your vision will include a way to stop the state-sanctioned murder of innocent children.  Let the doctor from West Philadelphia serve as an example of what the vile practice of abortion inevitably leads to.

May God bless you and keep you, may He make His face shine on you, may He lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

The First Post

Since I am the only one following me at this point, I guess there is no reason to be nervous about this first posting.

I love Jesus, and I believe that if the world could actually know Him, then they would love Him as well. The problem is that religion has presented Him in a false manner, and the world has been turned off by what they have been shown.

Consider yourself warned! I hate religion, and will use this forum to present the Jesus that I know. The Jesus that is presented in the Word of God. Not the character that religion portrays.

And don't be surprised if I have an opinion on current events as well. Jesus commented on current events often, and so will I.

Hold on tight, this could get interesting...
